It is no secret that Real Techniques is one of my favorite brands of makeup brushes, so when the new 2016 collection came out at the beginning of the year (and a sneaky 20% off helped) I picked up three of their new products. In the coming posts I'll be reviewing them and comparing them with the existing makeup brushes from Real Techniques. The first one I want to show you is the Collector's Edition Eyelining Set. The Real Techniques Collector's Edition Eyelining Set (20$) was released at the end of 2015 and was on my wishlist for a while. It contains four synthetic brushes and comes with a pouch that stores and protects your brushes. Let's look at them one by one.

Precision liner brush: for ultimate control of the perfect line. It is a very small liner brush with short stiff bristles. It is the smallest from the brand that I own and stiffer than the Zoeva 315 Fine Liner brush. I am not very proficient and making wings with these brushes and I prefer angled brushes. Nonetheless, it allows for a really fine and precise line if you have the hand for it.

Eyeliner brush: firm, angled head for optimal control along lash line. This angled brush is too thick for me to use with gel liner (I use the Zoeva 317 or Essence eyeliner brush), but works well to apply powder to my lash line or eyebrows. It is similar to the homonymous from the Nick's Picks set (here), just a tiny bit thicker.

Smudge brush: designed for enhancing the eye with a smoky effect. This was the one that made me buy the set, it is perfect to smudge shadow or liner. It is a small and stiffer version of the Real Techniques Shading brush.

Pointed liner brush: flat, tapered head designed to create both thin and thick lines. This new brush has shorter bristles compared to the old version with the same name and less wide than the Accent brush. A similar brush from Zoeva is the 238 Precise Shader. This type of makeup brushes is perfect to apply highlighter on the inner corner of the eye.
Overall I am really happy with the Real Techniques Eyelining Set and would recommend you pick it up while it is still in stock, since it is Limited Edition. My favorite brush of the set is surely the Smudge brush that I use everyday.
