NOTE: I am well aware that Michelle Phan recently uploaded a new video with the same theme, but just so you know, this look is totally my own. The only trick from Michelle Phan that I did use in this video is tracing the area where the eyes can actually be seen while wearing the mask. And I'm not claiming that this trick is mine. This is not a remake, and I have planned filming this look many days ago. Blair also came out with the same themed-tutorial, so I guess nobody's copying anybody. We have the freedom to create, recreate, without stepping on anyone. I just have to make this clear so as to avoid any future hate comments saying I'm a copycat.
I really had a lot of fun filming this tutorial. It was extra exciting because I didn't really have any concept in mind. All I knew was I had to make the eyes look as beautiful as they can with or without the mask. The lips draw the main attention when the mask is put on. With the mask off, the eyes, lips and the entire face becomes the attention.
The masquerade mask I used in this tutorial was part of the goodies I bought from Wellmansons. They only cost 30.00Php. Very affordable!
Also, to avoid questions like "Did you film this tutorial naked?" The answer is no. The second photo posted above serves as a proof that I was dressed while filming. This is a simple zip-up tube dress I borrowed from my sister. It's a body-hugging dress, perfect for semi-formal masquerade events.
Let's get on with the tutorial...
I first applied Nichido's Foundation Stick in Beige all over my face the way it should be. So swipe and dot it all over your face and used a foundation brush to blend it all out. I used my Marionnaud N°33 Foundation Brush. To set the cream foundation in, I applied Maybelline Aqua Gel Foundation in True Beige over. This will give extra coverage to the face.
Using my Dollface Powder Brush and Maybelline Shine Free Face Powder in Honey, I buffed the powder all over my face for a matte finish.
Put the mask on and trace the inner corners to know where you should put your eye makeup. I got this trick from Michelle Phan.
Highlighting is next. I used Dollface's Small Eyeshadow Brush and MAC's Shroom eyeshadow to highlight the inner corners of my eyes and the browbone.
In redefining the brows, I used Fanny Serrano's Eyeliner Brush #7 and my favorite dark brown shade from the Dollface 88 Earth Tone Palette.

Moving on to the eyes, I used a light shimmery blue color from my Dollface 96 Color Palette on the inner thirds of my eyes, just above this shade, I applied a shimmery dark blue color. I selected a shimmery lavender color from the same palette and applied it from the outer corners working my way in, blending the colors altogether.

After this, I used Beauty Marked by MAC and applied it on the outer V. I first created a round edge and later on blended the color outward.
I lined my eyes with Maybelline EyeStudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner in 01 Black. Create a sexy cat eye.

I curled my lashes using Nichido's Lash Curler and applied Maybelline Volum'Express Hypercurl 3-in-1 Mascara.
I applied faux lashes which I bought from Wellmansons as well, with LashGrip as the lash adhesive. I applied too much glue, so I had to cover 'em up with Nichido's Liquid Eyeliner.
After the eyes, I applied my favorite blush at the moment, The Body Shop's Roseflower Blush 02. I used my DollFace Blush Brush for application.
The lips are last... I lined my lips first with Nichido's Lip Liner in Rosette LP04 and then filled my lips with Maybelline Moisture Extreme Lipstick in Windsor Rose. I used Dollface's Lip Brush to even out the color. To have cleaner edges, I applied foundation and lined the outer corners of my lips.
Lastly, put the mask on and see if the whole look is great. If it is, go put on your dress, fix your hair, and head out to the masquerade party!
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial as much as I did.
