My Current Collection of Burberry Sheer Eye Shadows

The names of the eye shadows are fairly reflective of their actual respective colour.  Some shades apply sheerly and softly with a brush when dry at first, but can be built up easily for more colour.  Due to the high quality and extremely smooth and fine texture of the eye shadows, you can also apply dry or wet (i.e. using dampened eye shadow brush) for full colour intensity and further bring out any sheen/shimmer it may have.  So, I don't think that the product line name 'Sheer Eye Shadow' is not entirely reflective of what these eye shadows can do as you can definitely increase their intensity.  Although, what you see here are mostly colourful shades of pinks, blues and purples, you can definitely very easily wear all of them for day/work wear if you apply them dry with a brush for a sheer wash of colour.  So don't be afraid!  :-)  Most of these have a satin finish that are very soft despite how they might appear in the pan.  Generally, those shadows labelled as 'Pearl' appear to have the slightest bit more pearlescent sheen compared to the ones I've indicated as satin.  'Rosewood' (No. 09), 'Midnight Plum' (No. 19), 'Midnight Blue' (No. 20) and, especially 'Pale Barley' (No. 22) have the most intense in my current collection in terms of initial application of colour and in sheen/shimmer.  The sheen is more intense when applied wet (see comparison swatches below of the 'Rosewood' (No. 09) and see also 'Midnight Blue (No. 20)'.
  • Trench - No. 02: soft pale beige with a satin (very subtle) sheen finish - my current all-time fave base eye shadow powder.  (See my full review).
  • Rosewood - No. 09: looks very brown and shimmery in the pan, but when applied, it is a lovely rose taupe with subtle pink metallic sheen.  Very versatile shade that can be used on its own or paired with a lot of other colours.  A great staple of mine.
  • Antique Rose - No. 10: soft antique rose or a lovely mix of brown and rose pink with a satin finish.  Lovely for autumn, or if you want something neutral with just a hint of colour.
  • Tea Rose - No. 11: soft, medium rose with pink hues and a satin finish.
  • Pale Rose - No. 12: sheer, soft, very pale, baby pink with a subtle pearly sheen (bit more than the other colours that I describe as 'satin').
  • Lavender - No. 14: sheer, soft, blue-based purple.
  • Slate Blue - No. 15: applies as a sheer, soft, medium blue with greyish undertones.
  • Pearl Blue - No. 16: sheer, soft, very pale, baby blue with a subtle pearly sheen (bit more than the other colours that I describe as 'satin' - similar in finish to the 'Pale Rose').
  • Pearl Grey - No. 17: cool toned, medium-dark grey with a similar finish to the 'Pearl Blue'.  Applies sheerly and softly with a brush at first, but you can easily build it or apply with a dampened brush for real intensity.
  • Midnight Plum - No. 19: yummy, rich deep plum that's slightly smokey with a subtle metallic sheen.
  • Midnight Blue - No. 20: a slightly smokey, gorgeous deep blue with very subtle metallic sheen and blue and silver shimmer.  (See my full review).
  • Pale Barley - No. 22: a beautiful, complex mixture of light brown/taupe, beige and gold. It's a neutral shade that leans slightly warmer and has a slightly metallic sheen to give dimension to the eyes.  Another great staple.  (See my full review)
All swatches in the links below were applied on dry and against olive tan skin tone unless otherwise specified.  (Note, if you'd like to see any more dry versus wet swatch comparisons of any of the other shades I have, please let me know in the comment). :-)

I've divided up the eye shadows into 3 sets (otherwise it's too long for a single blog post) - so please click on the link below for photos and swatches:
Hope this was interesting/useful if you're considering Burberry Sheer Eye Shadows.  I would highly recommend them.  This is one of my favourite products ever (hence, why I have acquired so many of them since they first came out!).  They are just a wonderful, buttery, smooth texture that you can easily apply using your fingers even (if you're so inclined)! ;-)  They are all extremely wearable colours that can serve as great staples in anyone's make up kit.  I think it was good they made the more colourful shades in the line soft enough, but still having reasonable colour pay-off (e.g. the blues and pinks), because it really does make them much more "day appropriate".  Burberry is a high-end brand so they are expensive.  However, the exceptional quality of the product and the sleek, magnetic enclosure design with mirror (and sponge-tip applicator, which I know some people hate) make it worth it.  Also, the amount you get is more than what you would get from a Chanel single eye shadow for instance.

I hope to add 'Midnight Brown' (No. 21) and 'Gold Trench' (No. 04) in particular to my collection next! ^_^

Thanks for reading! xo
