After hearing that this lipstick was a dupe for Mac's Rebel lipstick, I just had to buy it. Watching this video by YvonneandSeiko at this point in time, I knew it was soon going to mine muahaha. After frantically searching in Boots and Superdrugs I finally found it, I felt complete. I love dupes and I love those who kindly show dupes of colours or textures from more expensive brands (THANK YOU). So was this shade all I hoped for?
107 (aka Wine - didn't know it was called that) is a reddish purplish colour, that does not look jarring against my dark skin. It is a red but, it's not a phonebox or fire engine red that could possibly turn heads and strain necks. If you have dark skin this lipstick will compliment your skin well and it will be wearable. Wearable in the sense that if you are are afraid or loud reds this one won't be and is definitely a comfortable shade to wear on any skin tone. This was exactly what I wanted. My wish was granted.
However, it wasn't love at first swipe. I found the texture a bit grainy (still smooth but grainy) & I'm not a fan of the scent. Like really does all Rimmel lipsticks have to smell the same? Also, because the colour is a darker red I found that without any foundation on, this shade makes my naturally dark chin/ jawline area look more noticeable (5 o' clock shadow enhancement, not cool). Remedy = wear foundation which is fine but, you know ... some days a girl may just want to swipe and go. With this one I could probably dab and hide. Maybe its all in my mind's eye but I thought I'd put it out there.
Apart from that, its pretty great. Although, this matte lipstick makes my lips feel dry and uncomfortable when I'm dehydrated. I find that after drinking water the dry texture of the lipstick feels better. So that maybe something you might want to try out (?). This lipstick does rub off quite easily but reapplication is always smooth with no flaking at all.

107 Wine on my lips comes out as a dark purplish red. The lipstick is very pigmented and I'm very pleased with the colour pay off. I think this shade is very romantic without being obviously so. Its not loud or pushy but subdued and sultry. Its dressy but not haughty. It effortlessly works in unison with my skin and makes me feel womanly ... Can you tell I'm in love?

Expiration: 30 months (I think?, but the writing is rubbing off ...)
